At A Glance: Mall of the Emirates

Mall of the Emirates or MOE as it's often referred to can be reached by Metro at the station bearing its name.  One does not need a feeder bus to go to the place as there's a bridgeway connecting the Metro to the mall - equipped with a travelator.

The Butcher Shop & Grill

Me and Friendship AO met at MOE (Mall of the Emirates) yesterday.  Sadly, Friendship PO was not able to join as she had some deadline office work.  Had it not been for her colleagues coming in 1 hour after she arrived, she could have still made it to our Friday brisk walking exercise. 

Off to our fitness regimen....and bhuoy, our pupils dilated at the very sight of red letters spelled as "SALE" or "PART SALE" in the window displays. I'm so in love with this word that whenever i see them in stores, i don't care what's before or after that word.  All i know is that it's my lovelife and comes in my favorite color - RED. 

As we were doing our routine calisthenics and finger exercises over the 25%-50% off part sale inside Debenhams, i suddenly felt that i'm about to be in a state of starvation.  We went to the food court near Kempinski Hotel and chose between steak and chinese food.   Steak occupied our imagination so off to this restaurant we went.

After some argumentation and debate on which cut has the most amount of fat (we want the fatty ones-our indulgence!), we settled for RibEye with mashed potato on the side.

Finally....they came.  Friendship AO had hers medium well while mine was well done so i had to eat ASAP before it gets hard as stone.

 

The Friday Lunch

I'm always looking forward to Fridays......simply because it's the only day in the week that i don't get to work yipeeeee!!!  In this part of the world, Friday is a weekend.  So yes, i get to wake up late and manage to prepare myself something for lunch.

I remembered ordering frresh chicken legs from trolley.ae and yesterday was my chance to practice my culinary skills.  The chicken pieces transitioned from fresh to frozen as it's been sitting in the freezer for 2 weeks already.

i fried all 4 pieces of the chicken legs (to save time and energy,... my energy!) which equates to having chicken 4x this week.  started with lunch yesterday, dinner tonight then tomorrow and the night after tomorrow.  whew, i can fly now from all those chicken meals.

At A Glance: Mercato Mall

Me and my 2 BFF's from grade school, PO and AO, decided to vist Mercato yesterday.  It's been more than a year since i made my brisk walking exercise in this mall. We caught the last drop of summer sale at the Next Store and we all found some really nice stuff for AED 25.00 each.  What happy shoppers we were!!!!

Mercato is small compared to other malls.  One can explore the entire mall in 1 hour or even less (that's minus the trips to the fitting rooms).  But the architecture is so admirable and will make a nice backdrop for photo ops.

We had a 2:00 pm buffet lunch at Fiestra Bistro located at the ground floor.  Hunger overpowered the thought of taking food photos so no food shots on that.  All i want was to fill my rumbling tummy and regain my normal vision - I couldn't look straight anymore as i was hungry and tired from joining the sale competition at Next.  Good thing friendship PO decided to get another serving of her well loved vegetable salad

to ease the load of our tummies, we decided to have a tea - lemongrass something...
